Hello BCSCA Members ~
It’s time to RSVP for our May 3rd meeting hosted by Fortis Institute. The meeting will be held at Il Villaggio in Carlstadt .
Dues for the 2017-2018 school year will be collected at the May and June meetings. Please bring a check made payable to the BCSCA or you can use your credit card, as well. Cash will not be accepted.
Early bird fees will be $40.00 until July 1st. If you pay by credit card, there is an additional 3% charge. Dues paid after July 1 will now be $45.00 and can again be paid by check or credit card.
The Executive Board is looking for working counselors to assist with some of our tasks, specifically with our summer school list and public relations. Please let me know if you are interested!
Any retirees? Please send me any names so that we can recognize them at our Awards Dinner.
I am happy to report that on Wednesday night the Executive Board met to choose our scholarship winner. This year we are awarding 6 scholarships for $2,000 each. Students from Saddle Brook, Hackensack, Westwood, Emerson, Leonia, and Old Tappan are the recipients and will be notified shortly. Although we had many applicants, those whose school counselor was not a paid member were automatically disqualified. So, please keep up with your dues.
Please note that if you have not paid dues in the past 3 years, you name will be removed from the system. This means you will no longer receive any emails or notifications from the association. So, please keep up with your dues.
I am also so very proud to announce the winners of this year’s awards:
K-8 Counselor of the Year – David Dickson, Tenefly Middle School
School Counselor of the Year – Ms. Jennifer Bucceri, Leonia High School
Secretary of the Year – Mrs. Joanne Scordo, Bergen County Academies
Administrator/Director of the Year – Mr. Keith Timmins, Assistant Principal, Maywood Avenue School
Friend of Guidance – Mr. Daniel Excellent, Teacher, Hackensack High School
Our Awards Dinner will be held on May 31. Please save the date to come help us celebrate the winners!
If your nomination was not chosen this year, we strongly encourage you to nominate again next year.
See you soon,
